Letting Children Shoot You

Getting creative with digital cameras is a lot more fun than the old days when you used to have to pay a fortune to develop film. Nowadays you can take thousands of pictures and simply pick out your best shots. Giving a child a childrens digital camera is like opening up the world of creativity to them. As they take pictures and view each one they will learn to look at the world a little differently. They will look at objects with a whole new perspective, and developed their own confidence by seeing just how creative they can be.

When we take photos we capture the past which allows us to also remember the past more clearly. With digital cameras in the hands of children they will see instantly a new world.

To get a child started with a digital camera first show them how to use it, then send him or her on a journey into the yard. Have them catch pictures of their friends. Send them on a campaign to gather as many snapshots as they can of bugs. Taking photos of different types of flowers will also help them to understand how pictures capture color.

Have your child experiment with taking pictures. This will help them to naturally become good picture takers. At first they will be snapping pictures of everything. As they go through the pictures they may notice the difference between a good picture of a bad picture. For example, a cluttered background, or power lines in the background ruining the picture. Experimenting with lighting will also be a great learning experience for them.

This may also be an opportunity to get your kids creative with their photo taking and photo manipulation software. For example how to sharpen blurry images, fixing redeye in pictures, and so on.

Another way to teach your kids is to get them involved with the photos that they take and introduce them to software that allows you to make greeting cards with your photos, or scrapbooks. Have them make a scrapbook of their closest friends, and their summer activities.

There are a lot of options for kids and exploring their creativity with a childrens digital camera. Purchasing a digital camera for children does not have to be expensive. There are children's digital cameras on the market today that are very inexpensive. Don't spend a lot of money on their first camera, otherwise you'll be worrying about whether they lose it or not. This will give them the chance to learn to be responsible with the digital camera, without you worrying about them losing it.
