Scrapbooking and Making Cards

Making your own scrapbooking greeting card for that someone special is a very fun and enjoyable process. Just imagine the faces of the person receiving it, when he or she discover the beautiful card which you made yourself, just for him or her! Create a card that appeals to their interest. Is the person a family member, a good friend, co-worker or significant other?

Now is the moment to decide on the theme of the greeting card. To make a funny card, use cartoons, there are plenty to choose from! A sentimental theme would need a little bit more work with perhaps some dried flowers or some sparkling stones. If you can draw your own graphics, that's even better but of course not everyone is an artist!

Answer this question - why are you sending him or her a greeting card? Is it a birthday, anniversary or maybe because you just care? If you want to send a birthday card, you cannot normally go wrong with a picture of a birthday cake. However, if it is to commemorate Independence Day then a picture of the American flag would be nice.

The next thing you have to do is write the copy for your scrapbooking greeting card. You can choose a poem you like or one that you know the person getting the card will appreciate or for true individuality, you could write your own poem. Respect the copyright of the original owner when you decide to use poetry and never sell any of those items you are creating. But it is acceptable if you are creating it for a loved one.

Now that you have established all the relevant information needed, you can start gathering materials to create the greeting card. You will want to gather cut outs of any pictures you want to include, as well as scissors, glue, construction paper, markers, a pencil for outlining (in case you make mistakes), and don't forget your creativity! Try adding some lace and ribbons and see the effects for yourself.

When it comes to home made greeting card, there are no boundaries. Let your imagination run wild. So break out those old magazines, poetry books, comic books, and cartoon strips, get those creative juices flowing, and make the best card ever! Your loved now will appreciate the greeting card, appreciating just how much hard work and time you have taken.
